Water Conservation Ordinance

Every year from May 1 to September 30, LUS and Lafayette Consolidated Government enact a water conservation ordinance to keep water pressure steady during peak irrigation hours. The ordinance applies to residential and commercial customers using automated sprinklers or irrigation systems and sets designated watering days for even and odd-numbered properties.

Rain Barrel

Rain Barrel Program

Collect and store rainwater for your lawn, garden, or outdoor projects while helping reduce runoff. LUS, in partnership with Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Environmental Quality Division, offers eligible residents a chance to purchase subsidized, recycled rain barrels with easy-to-use features like a removable top, mesh screen, overflow valve, and spigot.
